What you need

italian sausage

oz mozzarella cheese

oz tomato puree
tsp red chili flakes

Instructions
1: In a pan on medium heat, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and begin browning sausages on both sides for about five minutes each side. 2: Remove sausages from heat and slice them diagonally. 3: In the same pan, add onions and tricolored bell peppers. Cook until onions are slightly caramelized. 4: Remove vegetables from heat and set aside. 5: In the pan, add minced hot Calabrese pepper and red chili flakes. Cook until onions are translucent (about 2-3 minutes). 6: Add tomato paste and Chianti wine, allowing to reduce for 2-3 minutes. 7: Stir in crushed tomatoes or tomato purée along with a pinch of sugar and seasonings. Simmer for about five minutes. 8: Add back the sausage, onions, and peppers into the pan. 9: Top with mozzarella cheese and broil at 500° until cheese is melted or golden (about 5 minutes).View original recipe
